María do Cebreiro Rábade Villar (Santiago de Compostela, 1976) is a writer and PhD in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature. She currently works as a professor and deputy dean for Culture at the Philology Department of the University of Santiago de Compostela. She has published ten poetry books in Galician language so far, among which O estadio do espello (1998); (nós, as inadaptadas) (2001), Non queres que o poema te coñeza (2004), Os Hemisferios (2006), Os inocentes (2014) and O deserto (2015), awarded with the Spanish Critics Award. Her books have been translated into several languages, such as Spanish, English, German or Russian, and have been included in anthologies such as Objetos perdidos (2007, To the Wings Our Sails (2010), Breogan’s Lighthous (2010) or Punto de ebullición (2015). As a researcher, she has enjoyed research stays at the Universitat de Barcelona, Zürich Universität, Universidad de Mar del Plata, Universidade de Lisboa or the City University of New York, where she worked with the professor Xoán González-Millán. She has written the essays As antoloxías de poesía en Galicia e Cataluña, awarded with the Dámaso Alonso Award of Philological Research, As terceiras mulleres (2005) and Fogar impronunciable.
